Morton Potters 46, #4 Richwoods Knights 59

A technical foul was awarded to Richwoods before the game started and converted one of two free throws.  It continued to go the Knights way; they ran off 9 more unanswered points after the game started. Morton called a timeout at the 5:29 mark, 10-0. When play resumed, the Potters' Bisping found the bottom of the net at the 5:06 mark, 10-2.  Richwoods got back on a roll scoring the next 6 points, 16-2 by the 3:32 mark. Morton's only scorer, Bisping hit his second basket with 2:48 left in the 1st, 16-4. Richwoods' response was a pair of 3s by Desjardins and Evans, 22-4 at the 2:06 mark. After a Bisping jumper, the Knights called a timeout at the 1:40 mark, 22-6. The Knights' return to the floor was announced with two baskets by Anderson, 26-6. And that's the way the quarter ended.

The 2nd quarter went scoreless for the first 1:20, before Morton's Voeller was sent to the line, where he made the backend of two free throws, 28-7. Both teams exchanged 4 points to 4:44 mark. The Knights started yet another run of 12 unanswered points that ended when Morton's Waibel sank one of two free throws at the 2:01 mark, 44-11. The Potters were able to add a free throw and layup before Richwoods' Cole put up a layup with 30 second left in the half. The remainder of half went scoreless, 46-13 Richwoods.

Morton started the second half reenergized by rattling off 6 unanswered points, which caused Richwoods to call a timeout at the 5:21 mark, 46-19. By the 3:54 mark Richwoods led 50-22, when Morton was awarded a technical foul from Frazier. After making one of the technical free throws Morton ran off the next 7 points to make the score 50-30. And that’s the way the 3rd quarter ended. 

By the 5:20 mark the Knights maintained their 20 point lead, 55-35. The Knights proceeded to slow the game down to burn the clock. The Potters took advantage of the situation and ran off 5 unanswered points, 57-40.  Richwoods called a timeout at the 3:16 mark. Bisping added another 2 for Morton, getting the Potters within 15 at the 2:47 mark. Morton was award another technical and converted both free throws, 57-44 at the 1:19 mark.  Morton got within 12 points in the waning seconds of the game. The game ended 59-46, Richwoods.
