Hersey Huskies 54, Lake Zurich Bears 31

After both teams exchanged a few baskets, Hersey led 10-7 at the 3:35 mark. Hersey still led 12-9 at 1:37. Hersey extended the lead to 14-9 at 1:01. Neither team scored in the last 1:01 and Hersey led at the end of the quarter 14-9.

Lake Zurich scored their first basket of the quarter at the 4:55 mark to cut the Hersey lead to 14-11. Then Hersey responded with a quick basket to make it 17-11. Hersey then hit a three and Lake Zurich responded with a bucket to give Hersey a 20-13 lead at 3:45. Lake Zurich then rattled off 4 points to cut the lead to 20-17 at 2:35. Hersey maintained their lead and pulled ahead 25-19 at the end of the half.

After both teams exchanged baskets, Lake Zurich hit a three to cut the lead to 27-24 at the 5:40 mark. Hersey extended the lead to 30-24 at 2:20. After going over three minutes without scoring Lake Zurich hit a free throw at the 1:53 mark to cut the Hersey lead to 30-25. Lake Zurich scored with 53 seconds left to cut the lead to 31-27. Hersey hit the last shot of the quarter to take a 33-27 lead to end the quarter.

Hersey scored the first four points of the quarter to take a 10 point lead 37-27. Hersey extended the lead to 43-29 at the 5:10 mark. Hersey then hit a three to make it a 48-29 lead at 2:53. After going nearly four minutes without scoring, Lake Zurich hit a layup with 53 seconds to play to make it a 52-31 Hersey lead. Hersey went on to win the game 54-31.
