In a battle to move back to Dawson Hawkins Gymnasium for the consolation finals, Moline took their first lead of the game at 8-7 on a steal and basket at the buzzer by Thomas Lindauer.
Moline center Mike Wismer committed his third foul of the first half at the 6:08 mark of the 2nd quarter, opening up the inside for Thornridge, who took their largest lead of the half at 20-14 on an inside basket by Jerron Charles. Turnovers dominated the last 6 minutes of the half, and Thornridge took a lead of 20-16 into the lockeroom. Thomas Lindauer of Moline led all scorers at half-time with 8 points. Aaron Wiilams led Thornridge with 5 points at the half.
Moline regained the lead on a driving layup by Nick Krantz at the 5:05 mark of the 3rd quarter. A three pointer by Thomas Lindauer gave Moline their largest lead of the game at 30-24. A technical foul on Moline after the third quarter buzzer and a made free throw by Thornridge made the score 35-30 to begin the 4th quarter.
Thornridge missed their first 6 shots of the 4th quarter, but the score remained at 36-30 as Moline was unable to penetrate the Thornridge defense. A backdoor layup by Thomas Lindauer gave Moline a 41-34 lead at the 3 minute mark of the 4th. Thornridge continued to struggle from the field, hitting only 1 of their first 14 shots. Moline iced the game at the free throw lane. Thomas Lindauer of Moline led all scorers with 27 points. Final score was 49-36 in favor of Moline.
