Geneseo Maple Leafs 36, Limestone Rockets 59
Limestone struck first as Weeks and company made a fast break that turned into a 3 point play at the 6:43 mark. The Rockets' Ashby added another 2 points before Geneseo called an early timeout at the 6:25 mark, 5-0. Limestone's Stewart added a layup at the 5:02, causing yet another Maple Leafs timeout, 7-0. After falling behind 9-0 the Maple Leafs' B. Hamer gave Geneseo its first points at the 3:59 mark, 9-2. Limestone added a free throw and field goal to extend its lead to 12-2 by the 2:31 mark. Geneseo's Denney found the basket for the second time in the game at the 2:16 mark, 12-4. The Rockets were able to extend their lead to 10 by the end of the 1st quarter, 16-6.
The Rockets put 4 more points of the board before Coach Martin called his 3rd timeout of the half at the 6:35 mark, 20-6. Vanopdorp of Geneseo converted 2 free throws at the 5:44 mark to give the Maple Leafs their first points of the 2nd quarter. Things continued to go Limestone's way as they had 8 unanswered points by the 1:54 mark, 30-10. The Rockets' Morris closed the half by hitting a 3 pointer with a second left on the clock, 35-16.
Well over a minute passed before an attempt on shot was even taken by either side. The first basket came from the Rockets' Stewart at the 6:41 mark, 37-16. Geneseo connected for two baskets before the Rockets called a timeout at the 5:17 mark. Baskets were exchanged with Limestone getting a one point advantage due do a three point play by Weeks, 44-27 at the 1:56 mark. The remainder of the 3rd quarter went scoreless.
The Maple Leafs were able to strike first in the 4th quarter with a S. Hamer layup. After trading baskets Geneseo called a timeout at the 5:14 mark, 46-31. By the time the 3 minute mark rolled around the Rockets had extend their lead to 53-33. Substitutions were made by both teams. The game ended 59-36 Limestone.
