Morton Potters 61, Hersey Huskies 59Morton opened the game with two three-pointers to take a 6-0 lead. Hersey got its first basket at the 6:02 mark to make it an 8-2 Morton lead. Hersey cut the lead to 8-5 at 3:45. Morton answered with a bucket to make it 10-5 at 3:01. Morton's Lundeen then hit a three to make it 13-5 at 1:50. Lundeen then hit a bucket at 1:21 to make it 15-5. Morton ended the quarter with a 15-7 lead.
Morton scored the first basket of the quarter to take a 17-7 lead. Hersey then hit a three to make it 17-10 at 7:02. Morton's Bisping converted a three point play to make it 20-10 at 5:15. Hersey responded with 6 unanswered points to make it 20-16. Morton held onto a 22-18 lead at 3:49. Morton's Bisping hit a three at 2:34 to take a 24-18 lead. Hersey used good pressure defense to battle Morton but Morton was able to hold onto a 26-18 lead at the half.
Hersey's Mertes hit a three to open the third quarter to make it 26-21. Hersey was able to tie the game 26-26 with eight unanswered points. Hersey took a 27-26 lead on a free throw by Mertes at 5:38. After six lead changes Morton had a 34-33 lead at the 3:35 mark. Morton then took a 36-33 lead on two free throws by Waibel. Morton's Lundeen made four free throws to give Morton a 42-35 lead at 2:05. Morton hit a shot at the buzzer to hold onto their lead and lead 48-37 at the end of the quarter.
Hersey was able to cut the lead to 52-44 at 5:50. Hersey's Mertes hit two free throws to make it a 52-46 Morton lead at 5:30. Hersey made two free throws to make it 53-48. After an intentional foul by Morton's Drake Taphorn, Hersey was not able to make either free throw or a basket and Morton maintained a 53-48 lead. Morton lead 56-50 at 2:50. Hersey cut the lead to 56-52 at 1:55. Morton still lead 58-54 at 1:10. Morton hit a free throw to make it 59-54 at 45 seconds. Hersey's Miklasz hit a three at 19 seconds to cut the lead to 59-57. Morton's Anderson made two free throws at 9 seconds to give Morton a 61-57. Hersey's Miklasz hit a bucket at 1 second to cut the lead to 61-59 and that is how the game ended with a 61-59 win.
