#1 Boylan Titans 65, Lake Zurich Bears 36

After an exchange of baskets Lake Zurich lead 7-6 at the 4:00 mark. Lake Zurich then scored and made it a 9-6 lead. Boylan then responded with a steal and bucket to make it 9-8. After an exchange of three point basket, Lake Zurich still lead 12-11 at 2:21. Boylan scored the next 5 points to take a 16-12 lead at the end of the quarter.

Boylan maintained a 19-12 lead at the 6:00 mark. Boylan held Lake Zurich scoreless for almost eight minutes of play while building a 24-14 lead at the 2:51 mark of the 2nd quarter. Boylan built up the lead to a 29-14 lead at 1:12. Lake Zurich went scoreless for another two minutes until they scored with 53 seconds left in the half. Lake Zurich’s Rathe hit a three pointer at the buzzer to close the gap to a 29-19 Boylan lead.

Boylan opened the third quarter and extended their lead to 33-19. Lake Zurich went the first two minutes of the quarter scoreless until they scored at the 6:01 mark to make it 33-21, only to have Boylan respond with a quick bucket. Boylan then scored the next seven points to give Boylan a 42-21 lead at the 4:50 mark. Boylan’s Miller had seven of the 11 unanswered points with Boylan extending their lead to 46-22 at 3:09. Lake Zurich only scored four points in the quarter, which allowed Boylan to extend the lead to 54-23 at the end of the quarter.

The fourth quarter began with a running clock due to the 30 point rule. Boylan won 65-36.
