#2 Mt. Carmel Caravan 70, Thornridge Falcons 42

Three seconds into the game Mt. Carmel's Frezza found the bottom of the net. Only to be answered by Thornridge's Charles at the 7:38 mark, 2-2. Abrams and Frezza combined for the next two baskets, 6-2 at the 6:28 mark. Abrams continued the Caravan's run with a layup, 8-2 at the 5:47 mark. Abrams struck again with a 3 pointer at 3:50 mark, 11-2. The Falcons' Wilson scored the next 4 points to close the gap to 5, at the 3:05 mark. By the 58 second mark, both teams had added 4 points to make the score 15-10, Mt. Carmel. And that's the way the quarter ended.

Thornrdge's Terrell went to the line and made one of two free throws, 15-11 at the 7:34 mark. Adams was sent to line and was able to complete the 3 point play. Filer made the next basket to increase Mt. Carmel's lead to 19-11, at the 6:51 mark. For the next 1:26 Mt. Carmel outscored the Falcons 4-2, 23-13. Mt. Carmel increased its lead by 2 before Thornridge's Wilson hit a 3 pointer, 25-16 at the 4:09 mark. By the 3:05 mark the Caravans had made it to the line twice with nothing to show for it. The Falcons' Howard chiseled 2 more points off of the Caravan lead, 25-18 at the 2:29 mark. After 3 unsuccessful trips for the Caravan to the foul line, Filer dropped two free throws at the 1:59 mark, 27-18. Terrell stepped up to the foul line at the 1:22 and converted both to make the 27-20. The half ended 27-20 Mt. Carmel.

Thornridge's Terrell 2 points and Hardy's 4 points capped off 6 unanswered points to get within one point, 27-26 by the 6:30 mark. The next 50 seconds saw Mt. Carmel go to the line twice, making 1 of 4 free throws and added a basket from Scheuermann to make the score 30-26. Baskets were exchanged by 4:07 mark, with the Caravans maintaining a four point lead. Each team exchanged two baskets a piece by the 2:10 mark, 36-32. The next five points were scored by Mt. Carmel with a 3 point play by Abrams, 41-32 at the 1:02 mark. Filer added 2 free throws at the 28 second mark, 43-32. Adams trip to the line in the last second of the quarter were unproductive. The 3rd quart ended 43-32, Mt. Carmel.

Abrams opened the 4th quarter with the first five points, which included a 3 point play, 48-32. The next two minutes the Caravan outscored the Falcons' 6-3, 51-35 at the 5:56 mark. Next three minutes Mt. Carmel was able to increase its lead to 22 points, 62-40 at the 2:40 mark. A timeout was called by the Caravans at the 2:17. Starts were pulled by both sides. The game ended with a 70-42 Mt. Carmel win.
